Caring for Aligners
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
①
Wear your aligners 22 hours per day.
Your teeth will move best with continuous wear. The more you wear them, the better your finished result will be.
②
Take them out to eat and drink.
You can drink water, but you must remove your aligners for all other foods and liquids.
③
Change your aligners every 2 weeks.
Your teeth may be sore for 1-2 days with each new aligner. Even when the soreness is gone, it is important to continue wearing your aligners full-time for 2 weeks to achieve optimal results.
④
Rinse and brush regularly.
Brush your aligners 2 times per day. Brush all surfaces of your aligners (without toothpaste). When possible, brush your teeth after every meal. Use mouthwash or retainer cleaner as needed to freshen your aligners.
⑤
Keep them safe.
Always place in a case when not in use.
Keep away from pets (fish are ok).
Avoid extreme heat (e.g. hot cars, no boiling).
